Warbrick

The Durie Brothers, NZ Film Commission

Manawatu-Whanganui , New Zealand

Meihana Durie and Pere Durie are brothers who aim to write and direct feature films that speak to the significance of this place, Aotearoa/New Zealand and its people.  Upon release last year, their first 35mm short film Warbrick won the Audience Award for best Short Film at the Wairoa Film Festival and was subsequently selected to screen alongside the award-winning documentary Tyson at the 2009 New Zealand International Film Festival.  It then screened to the All Blacks on the eve of their season defining Bledisloe Cup victory against the Wallabies in Wellington.  The Durie Brothers have a slate of action/drama films that they are currently developing.

Our films are all about giving the audience something to think about and taking them on a journey – a roller coaster ride to a special time and place, just like this film Warbrick.  We hope you’ll watch this film, like it and share the love by passing on the link.  We’re also looking for collaborators, like-minded people who dig action/drama films and want to see more Kiwi films like this on big screens around the world.  We have some high-concept films lined up that we want to make but now need the people around us to make that happen!
